Five pieces designed by firms Andreu World and Sellex have won awards at the 50th NeoCon 2018, the US’s most relevant commercial design event, held in Chicago on 11 to 13 June. The “Best of NeoCon” category recognises quality and innovation in product design for work spaces. The winning pieces were chosen from 374 pieces put forward in this year’s awards.
Andreu World has won four “Best of NeoCon” prizes for best product design for the Flex Armchair, the Dado sofa, the Reverse Occasional tables and the Duos stool. The Duos stool, designed by Jasper Morrison, and the Reverse Occasional tables, created by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, received two Gold Awards in the “Seating: Bar Stools” and “Tables: Occasional” categories. The versatile Flex Armchair, designed by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, and the Dado modular sofas, designed by Alfredo Häberli, received two Silver Awards in the “Seating: Conference” and “Seating: Sofas & Lounge” categories. The Dado sofas series also received a “HiP Award” by US Interior Design Magazine, as the best workplace sofa.
In turn, Sellex was awarded a “Silver Award” for the Back modular seating, designed by Burkhard Vogtherr, in the “Seating: Bench” category. This “chameleonic” seating module stands out by its multiple arrangements and its wide range of materials that allows it to adapt to any setting. It was recently presented at Clerkenwell Design Week in London, where it received excellent reviews from architects, interior designers and decorators.
