On September 14, Home Textiles Premium by Textilhogar brought to a close the latest edition of Spain’s major professional event featuring home textiles, decoration and upholstery. This year’s venue was Madrid’s Caja Mágica, where the three-day fair unveiled the latest trends and new collections by 84 exhibitors, representing 355 Spanish and European firms and brands.
Organised by Feria de Valencia and Ateval-Home Textiles from Spain, the trade show brought together close to 200 international buyers and opinion leaders from 33 countries, who noted the quality and design of the innovative textiles for decorating and finished product exhibited by the Spanish companies taking part.
Interiors from Spain was back at the show again this year, and is offering an insight into the trends and new features on display. For the upcoming season, we found four main trends in colour and textures: two inspired by nature, “Caramel” and “Secret Forest”, one in more nostalgic vein “Pearly Shine”, which takes us back to vintage styles of the 70s and 80s and one of more urban inspiration called “Urban Ingenuity”.
New features include a space called “THE CUBE, Business Contract Zone”, run by interior designers and decorators, architects, project managers and designers, where we found an extensive selection of textiles editors, with companies like Alhambra International, Pepe Peñalver, Coordonne, Equipo DRT, Lamadrid Contract, KA International and Gancedo showcasing their latest products and collections, and a fitted area in contract style, featuring specific decorative trends in textiles for hotels. The room created by designer Carmen Baselga with curtains created by Equipo DRT was particularly impressive.
Halls 1 and 2 exhibited key decorative trends for the year ahead from brands like Bondrap by Aznar Textil, Destiny-Interfabrics, Comersan, Manuel Revert, Texathenea, Tejidos Reina and Rioma, with fabrics and finished products that were innovative, environmentally sustainable and trend-setting.
