On October 31, the Spanish Embassy in Tokyo held a seminar on strategic design and innovation, involving three Spanish design studios. The event was organised by ICEX and the Economic and Commercial Office in Tokyo.
Erretres, Mormedi and Culdesac VENTURE LAB explained their strategic innovation solutions to an audience of 115, in a bid to improve user experience. A debate then followed with Professor Hideyuky Horii, founder of the i.school at the University of Tokyo.
Seminar participants also had chance to visit the exhibition “Spanish Chromatic Still Lifes”, curated by Belén Moneo, of Moneo & Brock studio, which exhibited designer pieces made by ten Spanish companies.
The following day, the Spanish studios paid a visit to Tokyo’s i.school, where they attended a workshop on innovation and watched a presentation of a number of examples and experiences involving major Japanese businesses and saw a business innovation incubation centre, the JSIC (Japan Social Innovation Center Hub). The Spanish studios rounded off their two-day visit to the Japanese capital with B2B agendas with Japanese businesses.
