The designer furniture company Viccarbe and the sustainable fashion brand Ecoalf have signed a strategic partnership agreement with the aim of leading the way towards sustainability within the contemporary design industry. Thanks to this new joint venture, Viccarbe will incorporate the latest innovations in sustainability in the development of its products and Ecoalf will explore additional paths in its journey within the fashion industry.
The first phase of this agreement will involve the use of Ecoalf's fabrics in Viccarbe's collections, and the furnishing of the fashion firm's headquarters and stores around the world by the contemporary furniture design studio. The second phase of this partnership will result in the development of a new Ecoalf by Viccarbe furniture line.
The New “Viccarbe x Ecoalf” Collection
As a first example of this partnership between the two companies, the iconic Maarten collection by Viccarbe will add a new line upholstered with Ecoalf fabrics made from recycled materials from different types of waste (plastic bottles, fishing nets, coffee grounds...), which will be unveiled next summer. In addition, work is already underway on new pieces of furniture. For the development of such new designs, the two firms are implementing a R&D project to ensure not only that all materials are recycled, but also that at the end of their useful life, they can be easily separated for later reuse and recycling, generating a perfect ecosystem of circular economy.
For Javier Goyeneche, Founder and Chairman of Ecoalf: "Collaborating with Viccarbe gives us the opportunity to explore the universe of furniture, advancing on our path beyond fashion. It is an honor to be part of this project, sharing our knowledge and technology on recycled fabrics, finally transforming them into timeless designs. I believe that Viccarbe and Ecoalf share strong values around design and quality standards, and that is why today we are joining forces, to present a lasting proposal based on the idea of contemporary design with a positive impact on our environment.”
Victor Carrasco, Founder and Chairman of Viccarbe, adds that "Viccarbe is an international benchmark in collaborative furniture with deep Mediterranean roots, which make our collection admired for its friendliness and positivism. Ecoalf fully agrees in its respectful and innovative vision towards our environment. Both companies strive to be not only the best companies on the planet, but the best companies for the planet. We are therefore very excited about this new strategic partnership, with which together we will create furniture that we can be deeply proud of.”
