At the end of June, we learned about this year's winners of the influential Red Dot Awards 2021, which are presented annually by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. For more than 65 years, this prestigious German design entity has been awarding the good design and creativity of firms from the five continents, whose products it values for their innovation, formal quality, functionality and timelessness.
This year Spanish design has won twenty-one awards that recognize the creativity and innovative energy of the Spanish industry.
Four Spanish companies from the lighting sector received awards: Faro Barcelona with two awards for the FUJI portable lamp created by Isaac Piñeiro Studio and for the BROT outdoor luminaire designed by Yembara Studio. Arkoslight also won two awards for the UP ceiling lamp and for the reinterpretation of the classic filament bulb ALAKA BIG, both pieces designed by Rubén Saldaña, and ATP Iluminación won another award for its flexible LED kit E Series Floodlight + KitLED®.
In furniture, the NUEZ LOUNGE BIO armchair, designed by Patricia Urquiola for the Andreu World company , continues to collect international awards with this new prize. In the bathroom sector, the Fiora brand was recognized for its SEN bathroom furniture and Acquabella for its SMAT QUIZ bathtub.
Thirteen other innovative Spanish companies from more technological sectors completed the list of Spanish winners of a RED DOT that once again conquered this esteemed international award.
