Once again this year, the IF DESIGN Awards, which reward the best design of the year, have recognized Spanish creativity by granting 45 awards to Spanish companies and designers. The 2022 edition has seen more than 30 companies and 20 Spanish product and interior design studios receive awards.
In the “products” category, 28 design pieces won awards; in Lighting, the company Milán Iluminación won two, for the decorative WIRE and SYMPHONY lights designed by Jordi Pla, the brand Arkoslight won another two for the UP floor lamp and the FANCY SHAPE system, designed by Rubén Saldaña, and Faro Barcelona won one for the BUDDY portable lamp created by Andreu Carulla. In furniture (Home Furniture/Decoration), the award went to the PHILL collection of armchairs and poufs designed by estudi{H}ac for Koo International, and the BUFA sofa designed by Yonoh. In the other product categories, two Spanish companies won two awards: Ezpeleta, in the Garden category for the LAGO sun lounger and the EOLO parasol, and Roca Sanitario in the bathroom category for the ONA washbasin and INSIGNIA toilet. And the studios Nacar Design and Anima Barcelona also received two other awards. We would also like to highlight other award-winning products, such as the BISEL tile created by Victor Carrasco for Evoque Living Ceramics, the WING shelf designed by Mario Ruiz for ST-Systemtronic, and THE CURTAIN metal curtain by Exagres.
In addition, four Spanish architectural projects and six interior design projects received awards, and another seven companies and design studios received awards in other categories, such as “Professional Concept”, “Packaging”, “Web Interface” and “Communication.” Lastly, the company Noken received two awards, as did the design studios Minimal Studio Projects, Paco Lago Interiorismo and Almeda Estudi, and the SOSO olive oil bottle dispenser created by Grupo Idea Soluciones Integrales for Soso Factory also won an IF Gold in the “Food Packaging” category.
The IF DESIGN Awards have been celebrated for 69 years by the world's oldest independent design society, the iF International Forum Design GmbH, based in Germany. The awards ceremony will be held on May 16 at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin, the world’s largest stage theater.
