This last January, we discovered the winners of the German Design Awards, which recognized Spanish talent, as in previous editions. The company Actiu won two awards, the first for its 100% sustainable chair, Fluit, winner in the "Excellent Product Design Furniture" category. The second prize was awarded to its design in collaboration with the Alegre Design studio, for its A+S office chair, in the "Excellent Product Design Office Furniture" category.
Two other Spanish companies received awards in the "Excellent Product Design" category: Expormim, for its 100% recyclable outdoor furniture collection, Obi, designed with the Ludovica+Roberto Palomba studio. And Compac, with its new collection of surfaces, Ice of Genesis. Created in collaboration with the designer Arik Levy, it also received the German Design Award in the "Material and Surfaces" category.
The architectural firm Fran Silvestre Arquitectos was another big winner in this edition of the awards. The first award went to its Daphne stone and glass table in the "Excellent Product Design Furniture" category. They were also awarded second prize and special mention in the "Excellent Architecture" category, for the design of two houses in the Costa Blanca and Tarifa. The prize went to Sabater House, and the special mention went to their project in Cadiz, House on the air.
The design studio Puntofilipino also received an award in the "Excellent Architecture" category, for its interior design in the Memphis Apartment project. The company Ramon Soler was another one of the Spanish companies awarded, this time in the category of "Excellent Communications Design Brand Identity." The jury praised the Catalan company’s new brand image for its timeless, minimalist, and high-quality design
