Ten Spanish Brands Join “Mirrors” Installation at Downtown Design Fair

Spain, through ICEX and Interior from Spain, and with the support of the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Dubai, is once again taking part this year in the Downtown Design fair, held in the city of Dubai from November 5 to 9, with the participation of 10 Spanish brands.

Now in its eleventh in-person edition, Downtown Design has become a key meeting point for architects, interior designers, and real estate developers from the Middle East seeking premium design products. Dubai is considered the design capital of the Middle East, home to a wide range of architecture and interior design firms prescribing products for projects in the region and neighboring countries.

Spain has been participating in the fair for several years and continues to be one of the countries with the largest number of exhibiting companies after the UAE and Italy. This year, under the Interiors from Spain brand, Spain presents an installation designed by award-winning local studio Swiss Bureau Interior Design (SBID), which also curated the selection of pieces from ten Spanish habitat-sector brands featured in the exhibition. Each brand contributes its own distinctive essence, yet they all share a common commitment to craftsmanship, durability, and the timeless values of Spanish design. 

At the center of this installation is “Mirrors. Reflections of Spain", inspired by the reflection and creative spirit of Spain.Reflections of Spain”, inspired by the reflective and creative spirit of Spain. The structure is divided into four quadrants, two interior and two exterior, connected by a central mirrored courtyard that unifies the experience. Blending tradition and innovation, the design draws inspiration from Gaudi's vibrant color palette, the passion of flamenco, and the surreal imagination of Spanish art, offering visitors an immersive encounter with Spain's bold and dynamic identity. This striking installation highlights to professional and visitors alike the excellence of Spanish design.

Once again, a networking event will mark the opening, where Dubai-based SBID will present the installation’s concept to local specifiers, and representatives of the participating Spanish companies will have the opportunity to engage directly with these professionals.

This initiative complements other networking and promotional activities organized this year, such as the Fiesta & Design event and a media campaign in UAE, aimed at promoting Spain’s design for the habitat sector among designers and architects, encouraging them to specify a greater number of Spanish products in their projects.
