Spanish studio Stone Designs has unveiled its latest interior design project for the hospitality operator Essendi: the Tribe Krakow Old Town hotel. This modern property sits alongside the medieval Old Town of Krakow, a Polish city recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978.
The theatricality, the saturated colors, the spatial and sensory overstimulation — all of this invites guests to explore every corner, searching for that “something more” today’s travelers seek. In doing so, the studio focuses on generating an atmosphere that undoubtedly surprises — full of flavor and sophistication — where each visitor becomes a key player in the film that this Tribe hotel orchestrates every day.

As in David Lynch’s scenes, lighting plays a fundamental role in shaping the dense atmosphere the studio sought to create. A highly theatrical lighting design, full of accents on the most striking furniture pieces as well as on works by Polish artists, carefully selected to complete the scenography of this hotel. Shadows turn into pale stage sets, where dim light plays a crucial role in inviting the guest to let go and become part of an intimate, vital experience, with that touch of eccentricity Lynch loved so much.
Likewise, the entire color palette helps direct the lighting toward what Stone Designs truly want to highlight. Materiality is pushed to the limit, with zigzag patterns reminiscent of Twin Peaks and velvets embracing corners where every story unfolds alongside a freshly shaken Blue Velvet. Nuances that only serve to emphasize this immersive experience in a universe we could once only enjoy through his films.
To craft this ecosystem of elegance and sophistication, Stone Designs selected lighting from B.lux and Marset, alongside furniture by Kettal and Capdell, bringing design and modernity to this cinematic setting.
