This month, four Spanish companies have been honored at the 2026 German Design Awards, among them; one, Andreu World, has received the most prestigious award, in the “Gold” category.
The Spanish company with the most awards this year was Andreu World, with a “Winner” award in the “Excellent Product Design Furniture” category for “Bolete”, a geometric and versatile seat designed by Patricia Urquiola, with a base made from Pure ECO® thermopolymer, a 100% recycled and recyclable material. Likewise, Andreu World won the highest distinction, “Gold”, in the “Excellent Product Design Office Furniture” category thanks to the “Velo” chair, designed by Benjamin Hubert, also made of Pure ECO® thermopolymer material. This work chair features a weight-activated tilt mechanism that provides dynamic support without the need for manual adjustments.
Actiu, for its part, has received another “Winner” award in the “Excellent Product Design Furniture” category for “Dorik”, a collection of tables created by Odos Design, inspired by the geometry and proportions of Greek columns and designed to integrate seamlessly into any space. The possibility of incorporating integrated electrification reinforces its functional purpose, addressing the real needs of work, meetings, and everyday use.
In the category “Excellent Product Design Gardening and Outdoor Living”, Expormim has been awarded for the THE MERIDIES modular sofas, a creation by Roberto Lazzeroni inspired by the Latin word that describes a cool, shaded place to rest. With their sculptural form and generous comfort, they reflect the artisanal know-how rooted in generations of the Spanish brand.
Lastly, Neolith has prevailed in the “Excellent Product Design Material and Surfaces” category with “Neolith Victoria””. A sintered stone surface that integrates advanced 3D printing technology with a full-body veining design throughout the slab, achieving unprecedented visual realism, durability, and sustainability for kitchen and interior design applications.
These awards demonstrate that Spanish design is present and has a strong impact on the international stage thanks to its innovation in design, as well as the use of sustainable materials for its products, setting trends across several sectors.
