ANDREU WORLD IN THE CAPITOL HOTEL TOKYU

Spanish company Andreu World has had the honour of furnishing one of Tokyo’s swankiest hotels – The Capitol Hotel Tokyu – with its designs. The hotel is located in a prestigious area in the city centre, between Tokyo’s Parliament and Prime Minister’s residence. Celebrities from all over the world have stayed here. Originally called Hotel Tokyo Hilton, it opened in 1963.

Andreu World has contributed several furniture collections to its interior design. These grace some of the main areas, such as the Origami restaurant and indoor swimming pool.

Among the main collections which furnish these rooms, some of the company’s internationally best-known ones stand out in particular: Manila (oak chairs with an upholstered seat and backrest), Ronda (versatile, tactile, comfortable chairs) and Carlotta (seats with elegant, slender frames). It has also made use of designs from its Outdoor range, such as its Serena sun loungers and chairs, which create an interesting contrast between their wood frame and interwoven bands on their seat and backrest, and have a very natural look, and the unimposing, modern-looking Trenza chair which has sledge legs. All the selected pieces were dreamt up by Barcelona-based design studio Lievore Alterr Molina.

Andreu World supplied the project with over 75 chairs for the restaurant as well as loungers for the heated swimming pool.

Andreu World designs, manufactures and markets furniture for homes and public spaces. The company was founded in 1955 by Francisco Andreu Martí. It is now highly productive, which reflects its enormous experience and exceptional mastery of manufacturing wooden furniture and upholstery and related materials and techniques.
