The entrepreneurial journey of this luminaire manufacturer began in 1979, during a time when the concept of design was still relatively nascent locally in the Basque Country. This circumstance, combined with a limited local market for this product, led them to commit to the internationalization of the company. From the outset, they sought the collaboration of external designers to conceive their products. Thanks to this strategy, the company has achieved a global presence in in 65 countries across five continents.
As manufacturers, they are able infuse their luminaires with a distinctive character. They implement rigorous manufacturing and control processes in their facilities, ensuring that their products meet and surpass the highest standards of quality. B.lux's success is grounded in sustained growth over time, taking firm steps, always with the premise of establishing long-lasting relationships based on trust between the manufacturer and the consumer. In addition to that, the team’s dedication and talent contribute to delivering the finest service.
Signature designs rooted in the local environment
Partnering with renowned external designers has been a crucial cornerstone in journey and expansion of the company. This strategy, commonplace today, was not as common in the early 1980s when they embarked on their first collaboration with Guillermo Capdevilla. He designed the successful B.LUX SYSTEM collection of luminaires, characterized by their simple forms. Since then, the company's mission has been to channel the creative richness of both established professionals and emerging design talents. Their commitment lies in creating a product range that is coherent, innovative and constantly up to date. At present, they collaborate with a roster of highly talented designers, including Werner Aisslinger, Brad Ascalon, Martinez y Soler Arquitectos, Stone Designs, ILMIODESIGN and many more.
In addition, they manufacture their products in a setting surrounded by nature, where they blend innovation and tradition. Their approach combines technology with the best craftsmanship. “We feel deeply rooted in our local environment. We are heirs to the traditional values of our land and to the finest industrial character, including a commitment to excellence and satisfaction in delivering quality work,” the company says.
To safeguard the immense value of this environment, they adhere to the highest standards of production control and waste management. They utilize 90% of raw materials sourced from Spain and employ wood from responsibly managed forests that meet the sustainability criteria set by PEFC.
As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility policy, they have implemented a comprehensive plan that encompasses and reinforces their key sustainable development objectives. The hashtag #berespectful underscores their commitment to the environment, innovation, social and economic well-being and product quality. Through this program, they commit to various initiatives, including using recycled and recyclable materials in their products, promoting longevity to support a circular economy, sourcing 100% of their electricity from renewable sources, minimizing waste generation, and prioritizing local suppliers, among other core values.
Additionally, the company is committed to working with top-quality materials, including natural wood, aluminum, hand-blown glass and others.
