Nomon’s story began over 25 years ago, born from the partnership between furniture designer José María Reina and jewelry designer Àngels Arrufat. By combining their know-how, they introduced a new concept: the jewelry watch, something truly unique at the time. Together, they dared to break down barriers and challenge old conventions where watches simply told time, and jewelry was just a status symbol.
They believed in an innovative vision that went beyond function and decoration, elevating the wall clock to a much more premium category. Their approach was built on three clear pillars: respect for tradition, high quality materials, and a totally new design, similar to the best brands of contemporary furniture. It was a concept that quickly resonated with renowned architects and interior designers alike. Today, Nomon has expanded its philosophy into other areas, with a focus on designing, manufacturing, and marketing furniture and lighting.
Their motto, "Jewelry for Home," encapsulates their vision of crafting exquisite pieces that stand out in homes and interior design projects. “Each clock, piece of furniture, and lamp bears the mark of craftsmanship: marble, wood, metal... noble materials carefully worked in Barcelona,” they explain. Steering clear of fleeting trends, Nomon maintains a distinctive, elegant, and timeless identity.
Collaborations with designers
Since its inception, Nomon has alternated the work of its in-house design team with external collaborations. Their key external designers include the Goula Figuera studio, as well as creations by Mermelada Estudio and Stefano Bigi. They’re currently developing two collections with two new studios, which are set to be released next year. As the company puts it, “External designers bring fresh perspectives and expertise, which, when combined with our own, result in truly exciting pieces.”
Best sellers and new collections
Nomon's standout offerings include its iconic collections of watches, furniture, and lighting. In watches, the “Barcelona” series is the ultimate bestseller, featuring a double ring in fiber, walnut, and metals that captures the brand’s minimalist spirit. For furniture, they’ve reimagined the classic nightstand as a jewel-like piece with a captivating design. And in lighting, their handcrafted wooden lamp collections for residential and hospitality projects are adorned with noble materials, creating warm atmospheres even when turned off.
At Milan’s Salone del Mobile 2025, Nomon unveiled three lighting collections that were warmly received: The AUTUMN lamps, with their conical shape and curved wood, direct light downward in a gesture of winter-like introspection. The TAMÍZ collection, made of perforated metal and featuring diffused lighting, filters the space with shifting patterns of shadow. And CATAY, a series of suspended tubular luminaires, stands as a modern tribute to oriental luxury.
Marketing and global strategy
Nomon exports its design pieces to over 90 countries through agents, distributors, specifiers, and digital platforms like Archiproducts. Exports account for more than 90% of the company's turnover. With showrooms in Barcelona and Seoul, Nomon's products have been well-received in the US and several Asian markets. Since 2023, they have offered an online store on their website to serve customers in Spain.
Thanks to this global expansion strategy, Nomon’s pieces have illuminated the suites and lobbies of prestigious hotels such as the Ritz Carlton in Geneva (Switzerland), the Waldorf Astoria in Miami and the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas (USA), and the Yndo Hotel in Bordeaux. Their lighting collection has become the brand’s key entry point into high-end hospitality projects, where the blend of craftsmanship and timeless design offers distinct value.
