In the second half of the year, IFS is warming up to travel to the USA, UAE and Japan, where 60 Spanish companies will showcase their latest design and sustainability proposals in these markets.
In November, for the fifth time in a row, we will be exhibiting at the Downtown Design trade fair from the 6th to 9th, this time with an installation that will recreate an Andalusian Patio. It has been curated by the Spanish-Dubai studio B8 Architecture and will feature the participation of ten companies from the furniture, lighting, and ceramic floor and wall tile sectors. This high-end design fair has been held for ten years and has become an essential meeting place for architects, interior designers, and real estate developers from the Middle East.
A few days later we will arrive in the Big Apple, where we will organize another Spain Pavilion, from November 10 to 11 at BDNY, accompanied by 33 companies specializing in furniture, lighting, home textiles, tiles and decorative accessories. The Boutique Design New York (BDNY) trade show, organized by the prestigious American magazine Boutique Design and Emerald Expositions at the Jacob K. Javits Center, is one of the main events in the United States within the design habitat sector.
And from there we are visiting San Francisco, one of the sustainable cities in the USA, where we are organizing the second meeting on sustainability on November 15, after the one in Dallas last year, in which eight Spanish companies will participate. The event will consist of a workshop between these companies and a group of design and architecture professionals from California, during which the North American consultants will explain the decision-making process when specifying sustainable products and the initiatives to be recommended to the companies. Spanish brands will present their adaptation to sustainability in their manufacturing processes and sustainable products. This interactive event will be moderated and managed by the North American magazine Metropolis.
And we’ll end the year in Tokyo, where we will be holding a new design exhibition and technical workshop at the Embassy of Spain in Tokyo from December 11 to 13, with the participation of nine Spanish companies. The exhibition will be curated and designed by Natalia Sanz Laviña, founder together with the Japanese architect Takeshi Yamamura of the architecture firm YSLA YamamuraSanz Laviña. This year, with the title "Good Design Stories", it will talk about the design story behind each brand and product.
