The Spanish firm GANDIABLASCO is expanding its international visibility through its involvement in outfitting the ME Malta, a hotel located in the town of St. Julian’s, one of the island’s most touristy areas. Its outdoor furniture collections take center stage by the hotel pool and on the hotel’s rooftop, offering a range of aesthetic arrangements that blend naturally into the atmosphere of these two spaces.
The ME Malta stands as a building where the organic architecture of Zaha Hadid Architects redefines the island’s landscape. The project’s interior design, by the Autoban studio, was conceived to challenge the conventions of traditional luxury, seamlessly blending the building’s energy with the Mediterranean’s deep blue.
Among the pieces used at the pool are two designed by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales: the “Tres Al Fresco” sofa and the modular pouf from the “DNA” collection. Added to these is the Flat armchair, created by Mario Ruiz, which extends from the bathing area to the hotel restaurant, reinforcing the visual continuity between both social-activity zones. In these areas, you’ll also find solutions for the hotel’s guests to unwind and relax, such as the Daybed Contract beds, the round chill-out piece from the Flat collection, the 91 DNA low table, and the two-seater Onde sofa, the latter designed by Luca Nichetto.
The Islablanca collection by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales has been selected for the exclusive rooftop on the 33rd floor. This series, defined by striking geometric purity, fits seamlessly into the restrained, elegant language of the upper floors, letting the furnishings fade into the background and giving center stage to the breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and the city. Inside the ME Malta, GANDIABLASCO’s design pieces refine and heighten its sense of grandeur, strengthening and blending seamlessly with Zaha Hadid’s architecture.
