The Appartamento Spagnolo, Which Attracted 65,000 Visitors, Was Hailed as One of the Highlights of Milan Design Week 2025

From April 7 to 13, Interiors from Spain and the Italian magazine Elle Decor Italia presented the exclusive installation APPARTAMENTO SPAGNOLO, which celebrated Spanish design during MILAN DESIGN WEEK as part of FUORISALONE 2025. 

Developed and curated by the Calvi-Brambilla architectural studio, this project showcased the best of Spanish design in an immersive experience, featuring pieces from 17 leading Spanish companies in the habitat sectors: Annud, Ape Grupo, Arkoslight, Coordonné, Crevin, Gandía Blasco, Gomarco, Hisbalit, iSiMAR,  LZF Lamps, Mantas Ezcaray, Perobell, Resol, Roca, Rols Carpets, TM Leader Contract, XTone (Grupo Porcelanosa).

Set in the historic Palazzo Castiglioni, a Milanese Liberty-style building, the installation featured six distinct atmospheres in various rooms, a winter garden, and an outdoor courtyard. These environments transported visitors to a space where the past and present beautifully coexist. Through masterful design, Calvi-Brambilla harmonized the contemporary pieces exhibited with traditional architectural elements of the palace, such as its wallpaper and handcrafted stained-glass windows. 

The press conference, held on Monday, April 7, welcomed 252 guests from the Italian, Spanish, and international media. More than 65,000 visitors explored the installation, captivated by the design-forward and modern vision of Spain’s Habitat sector.

The APPARTAMENTO SPAGNOLO was part of MILANO DESIGN WEEK, which also featured the SALONE DEL MOBILE (Milan Furniture Fair) and EUROLUCE, both held at the Rho-Fiera Milano exhibition center. At these two fairs, the world’s leading events for furniture and lighting this year, 64 Spanish companies representing 90 brands participated, making Spain one of the largest contingents after Italy. 

Alongside APPARTAMENTO SPAGNOLO, another standout at FUORISALONE was the installation “The Light in the Darkness,” organized by TILE OF SPAIN through a collaboration between ICEX and ASCER and designed by Viruta Lab. Featuring pieces from 18 Spanish tile companies, it was exhibited at the University of Milan (La Statale).
