A warm-looking rug designed by Enblanc.
Spanish brand Gan-Rugs – a division of Valencia-based company Gandía Blasco – recently unveiled its Lattice rug, designed by the studio Enblanc. The project is in a similar vein to Enblanc’s other design for Gan-Rugs – the Lepark rug. Lattice is made of hand-tufted, New Zealand wool and its rich variety of hues makes it very versatile – suitable for many styles of interior. In contrast to its sharply geometric pattern, its colours are warm and earthy.
Enblanc, also based in Valencia, is a multidisciplinary studio founded in 2007. It undertakes industrial design, graphics and interior design projects. Its interiors-related work includes a number of products and projects for companies such as Systemtronic – for which it created the Beside side table-cum-storage unit as well as the Jan chair for Jacinto Usan.
Gan-Rugs includes all the textile collections of Gandía Blasco, which was set up in Valencia in 1941 as a manufacturer of traditional blankets and bedspreads. In the mid-80s, it began making furniture and textiles in a contemporary, innovative style for outdoor use. Gan-Rugs has always made highly individual rugs, and, to this end, has collaborated with such well-known designers as Patricia Urquiola, Oki Sato (chief designer of Nendo), Francesc Rifé, Héctor Serrano, Charlotte Lancelot, Odosdesign, Mario Ruiz, Jose A Gandía-Blasco, Jean-Marie Massaud, Sandra Figuerola and Pablo Gironés.
