It received a Special Mention in the German Design Awards of 2015 and Best of Year 2014.
Designed by the Valencia-based studio Cuatro Cuatros for Spanish firm LZF Lamps, the Asterisco lamp has just received a Special Mention in the German Design Awards of 2015 and the US Best of Year 2014 award.
The German Design Awards were established by the German Design Council and are one of the most prestigious design prizes in the international design arena. Their aim is to identify, present and honour unique design trends. What’s more, Asterisco was given a Special Mention in the ‘Table Lamps’ category in the equally illustrious Best of Year 2014 awards, given by the US magazine Interior Design.
Asterisco perfectly balances form and function: it cleverly incorporates a lectern, making it the perfect lamp for reading with or for taking notes. It casts a warm light, ideal for intimate, relaxing occasions. You can rest a book or tablet on the lectern or it can even be used as a picture frame. This design is also suitable for hotels, restaurants, reception areas and other public areas.
LZF has received many prizes for the innovative design of its lamps. In 2010, it scooped the Red Dot award for its Air lamp and, in 2011, the WAN Interiors + Design award for the Agatha lamp designed by Luis Eslava and the Good Design award for the Pleg light, created for Yonoh. In 2012, LZF’s Chou light for Yonoh received the Red Dot Award and in 2013 its design Escape, produced by Ray Power, won the Good Design prize.
