Mut Design brightens up walls with SCALES

An impressive collection inspired by nature, created for the group Peronda.

Mut Design has once again dazzled us with its new, creative idea for the ceramics market. This time, it’s created the SCALES collection for the Peronda group, a very luminous alternative to traditional ceramic surfaces that’s bound to wow even the most forward-thinking.

SCALES is a simple, ceramic wall surface inspired by nature, specifically the lively movement of iridescent fish scales rippling under water. Mut Design has played with the special reflective quality of fishes’ scales to give the ceramic surface a luminous sheen. When the ceramic pieces are joined together, the effect is optically magical: the tiles emit flashes of colour effortlessly. And SCALES tiles allow for countless configurations, their palette of fluorescent shades recalling the 80s, which are currently enjoying such a revival in fashion and design.

This collection is the result of a collaboration between Mut Design and Harmony. Peronda’s high-end interior design brand, part of its Peronda Fashion Lab project. This is a laboratory for ideas and trends shared by Peronda and various multidisciplinary designers.
 
Mut Design bases its design values on emotive design and experimentation and the constant reimagining of everyday objects, characteristics reflected in all its work. It’s not the first time that the studio has worked for the ceramic sector — it has also designed the Keidos and Drops collections of floor tiles.
