An unashamedly pretty furniture collection.
Six years after JM Ferrero presented his Japan collection of in/outdoor furniture at the the Valencia Furniture Fair, the Estudi Hac designer is delighted to have a large-scale manufacturer to produce it: Spanish outdoor furniture company Point.
Japan is an unashamedly pretty collection made from lacquered metal with a floral cut-out design. Ferrero says he wanted to combine simple geometric shapes with an intricate cut-out pattern to allow an interplay. On sunny days, as you can see in the photograph, the pattern on the furniture is mirrored on the ground.
Point, which is based at Jalón in Alicante, is a family-owned company and it's one of Spain's leading manufacturers of high-end contemporary outdoor furniture. It likes to work with a variety of top designers, including El último Grito, Gabriel Teixidó, Alfonso Gallego and Juan Santos.
