RS Barcelona travels with you with Mon Oncle

A retro-chic portable barbecue, designed by Mermelada Estudio.

The Barcelona-based company RS Barcelona has reinvented the classic barbecue with its product Mon Oncle, a retro-chic barbecue, created by Barcelona-based designers Mermelada Estudio.

The barbecue is stored in an elegant, little suitcase with a retro vibe. Open the case, and the barbecue pops surprisingly into view. This portable barbecue can be used at home, in the garden, on the beach or on excursions on mountains. Mon Oncle can be quickly unpacked and easily cleaned, and comes in three ultra-retro shades: grey, powder blue and sage green. What’s more, it’s very hard-wearing since it’s made of steel coated in fireproof paint. RS Barcelona recommends that environmentally friendly fuel made of coconut shells — which burns without producing flames, generates very little smoke and retains heat — is used with the barbecue.
