In April, Cosentino, world leader in the production and distribution of surfaces made of quartz, natural stone and recycled surfaces, took part in Fuorisalone (the Milan furniture fair’s satellite shows, located outside the Rho Pero fairground). The company, which is based in Almeria, southern Spain, presented an original project developed and designed by the Brazilian brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana.
This innovative proposal, called Shaping Silestone®, manages to be conceptual, sculptural and an everyday object all at the same time. A piece of modular kitchen furniture comprising three different components, Shaping Silestone® recalls a multifunctional Swiss Army knife. This single piece of furniture, whose front panels are clad with a thin hardwood veneer made from a walnut tree cut down over half a century ago, offers everything you could possibly need in a kitchen.
The project, made of Silestone® quartz surfaces, incorporates Cosentino’s Integrity® kitchen sink. The design is a highly innovative piece in the kitchen equipment sector. It comes with several coordinating chairs.
This is the second time that Cosentino has collaborated with the Campana brothers, one of the most high-profile, internationally renowned design teams. In 2010, they launched a collaborative project called Campanas for eCosentino – an artistic interpretation of Cosentino’s recycled surface called ECO.
