LOTTUS XS INFANTIL
The Lottus chair collection, created in 2009 for Spanish firm Enea by Lievore Altherr Molina, has been augmented with a new line, Lottus XS, specially for children. From now on, they, too, can make use of this popular collection already enjoyed by their parents.
Lottus XS has been specifically designed to satisfy children’s requirements: it’s versatile, functional and vibrantly colourful. The collection comprises chairs in three heights for use by different ages, and its backrest is available in monochrome or two colours. If need be, these can also come with a matching table. The chair’s frame is mainly made of tubular metal with a lacquered or chrome finish, while its shell in injection-moulded, recyclable polypropylene is available in 10 colours and is easy to clean. This line is specially designed for use in such public spaces as libraries, school, kids’ play centres, nurseries, and is suitable for the home.
Enea was founded in 1984 with the aim of offering contemporary products for all spaces — private homes, offices, hotels, auditoria and other types of public settings. In recent years, the company has recognised the importance of creating furniture tailor-made for toddlers’ needs, in terms of colours and materials. In fact, this was the main motive for producing the Lottus XS design for children, together with a desire to meet the needs of architects and interior designers wanting to create kids’ spaces. The collection can already be seen in the kids’ area of the Sant Gervasi-Joan Maragall library in Barcelona.
