Highly prized: A big hurrah to Spanish design

Spanish National Design Award
       
The most coveted design award in Spain is the National Design Prize, awarded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and presented to winners by the King of Spain. The award was set up to strengthen and promote the culture of design in all areas of life, particularly industry and business. This year the judging panel gave the prize to designer Mario Ruiz and to Simon, a leading manufacturer of interfaces and electrical equipment.

2016 Delta Awards
           
The prestigious Delta awards – organized bi-annually by industrial design association ADI-FAD - are also reserved for Spanish design, and they're known for their eclectic choice of winning products.
           
ICFF Editors Award for Marset
           
The International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York is one of the leading events for anyone involved in high end modern design, and this year it hosted some 700 exhibitors from over 30 countries.

Held at the Jacob K Javits Convention Centre, its Editors Awards are highly coveted, which explains Marset's delight at winning the Editors Choice Award in the Best Lighting category for its Concentric light by Rob Zinn.
           
Edeestudio wins at A'Design
           
Edeestudio's '60's-inspired Zip seating collection has won the Gold award in the Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design category at the 2016 A'Design Award and Competition. The 80+ judging panel - made up of leading designers, academics and design journalists – praised the collection for its visual impact, comfort, simplicity, and for being lightweight.

Best of NeoCon
           
You could say NeoCon – the vast Chicago trade fair – belonged to Valencia furniture company Andreu World this year because it won a staggering seven Best of NeoCon awards – five Gold and two Silver.
           
HiP Awards

New York-based Interior Design magazine presents its HiP Awards – Honouring Industry, People & Product – at NeoCon and this year it awarded one to KriskaDECOR, the aluminium curtain specialist.
