The designer upholstery company B&V has recently revamped its corporate identity, so from now on its new name is Blasco&Vila. And to celebrate it, they revealed their latest upholstery designs to us, created by the designers Francesc Rifé, José Manuel Ferrero of estudi(h)ac and Stephanie Jasny.
Francesc Rifé has designed the RC collection for Blasco&Vila, which includes chairs with and without armrests, armchairs and sofas with a rationalist, versatile and contemporary design. Made of solid ash wood, they stand out for their timeless and elegant style. About this selection of furniture, Francesc Rifé says, ‘This collection fits into the studio’s creative line that is characterised by order, rigorousness and purity. And it is also my answer to the future of the contract. We were looking for a multi-purpose piece, suitable for hotels and restaurants as well as for new office concepts. The softness of it shapes, in turn, makes it a perfect collection to be used in the home.
For his part, José Manuel Ferrero from the design studio Estudi(h)ac has created the Hardy sofa which is characterised by its design and shapes and pays homage to Edwin Hardy Amies, one of the most inventive and compelling tailors in London and founder of one of the oldest tailor shops in the United Kingdom. Created with comfort in mind, this sofa gets rid of exaggeration and bulkiness to achieve a look and feel of elegance and timelessness, which can be customised with the set of fabrics. Lastly, the German designer Stephanie Jasny has designed the Amè armchair, a comfortable piece made for waiting areas, opting for functionality and well-being.
B&V is a Spanish design firm specialising in sofas and armchairs, which since 1992 has been making its collections in an upholstery atelier that combines tradition, craftsmanship, passion, experience and creativity with the most advanced technology. Each of its designs is a unique piece created by designers who collaborate with the company and are handmade by master craftsmen.
