Virtual Spanish Interiors Exhibition: “Möbius Strip'
Eight Spanish companies from the interior design sector are bringing their offerings to Möbius Strip, the first virtual reality exhibition organized by ICEX, under the Interiors from Spain brand and with the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Tokyo on the occasion of the fourth edition of Designart Tokyo. Design, innovation and digital transformation come together in this new exhibition concept - accessible to professionals and individuals through The Virtual Spanish Interiors Exhibition and Spain is in Japan-which circumvents the limitations imposed by COVID-19.
The exhibition, which can be experienced in Japanese and English, consists of several spaces combining furniture, lighting, carpets and decorative paintings from the firms Dvelas, Ezpeleta, Faro Barcelona, Gandía Blasco, LZF, Moblibérica, Naturtex and Novocuadro. During the tour, visitors can view each design in detail and discover the participating companies’ stands, featuring 3D models with different finishes and offering additional information and images about these products in various environments, as well as online contact information for the manufacturer or its Japanese agent or distributor.
The main concept of this virtual exhibition, designed and curated by renowned Japanese architectural firm Azusa Sekkei, is the “Möbius Strip” that connects Spain and Japan. According to its curator, "both countries have sustained heavy damage since the beginning of the pandemic. The new post-Covid19 world is not entirely suffering, but eternally spins like the Möbius Strip, and will one day orient itself to a prosperous destination filled with sunlight. We have designed the exhibition with the desire to establish this symbol. When defining the project, he points out, "the team in my studio gave a lot of importance to respecting the designer's idea and concept of each product, and they sought to reflect this.”
The exhibition, which can be visited in Japan and from the rest of the world, will remain open beyond Designart Tokyo ,through September 30, 2021.
