The spectacular fish-shaped Koi light sculpture by LZF lamps and the artistic decorative chains from Kriskadecor dazzle at the Kohakinho sushi bar, located in the heart of Lugano's old town, moments from the pier where ferries depart across the Swiss city's romantic lake.
The Swiss architecture and interior design firm Bruner Huber Architetti approached the design of the project with the aim of making the restaurant's image its calling card. Based on its name and culinary style, this Japanese-Brazilian fusion sushi bar chose a koi fish as its central element. The studio chose to decorate it with LZF's large, sculptural fish-shaped wood veneer lamp which floats above the tables, transforming the high-ceilinged space into a huge fish tank, and the customers into smaller fish. The aquarium effect is enhanced by the large windows that reveal the entire interior.
To reflect the elegance and unique character of the restaurant, the Swiss studio also selected Kriskadecor's artistic chains. The color gradient starts at the ceiling, with 49 rectangular segments in orange, brown and gold, and ends with the wall covering, which features 7 other colors that help tie together all the decorative elements in the space. The versatility and lightness of these chains, as well as the ability to customize them in terms of color, shape and size, lend them to use in this original project.
