In the second half of the year, Spanish design will land in Dallas, New York, Dubai, Tokyo, and Paris with more than 60 Spanish companies presenting their latest proposals for furniture, lighting, home textiles, tiles, and decorative accessories.
In the U.S. on November 8, we will hold a meeting in Dallas, Texas, on sustainability with participation by six Spanish companies. The event will consist of a workshop between these companies and a group of design and architecture professionals from Texas, during which the North American consultants will explain the decision-making process when specifying sustainable products and the initiatives to be recommended to the companies. Spanish brands will present their adaptation to sustainability in their manufacturing processes and sustainable products. This interactive meeting, chaired and managed by the U.S. magazine Metropolis, will be held at the Dallas headquarters of the multidisciplinary design firm HKS. Several days later, from November 12 to 13, we will once again host a Spanish Stand at the prestigious trade fair BDNY where 30 Spanish design companies will be exhibiting. More than 9,500 American architects, designers and purchasing executives will be attending this great design event in the Big Apple.
At the same time, from November 8 to 11, we will be exhibiting at the fair Downtown Design in Dubai, where we will participate for the fourth time with five Spanish furniture, tile and kitchen, bathroom, and handicraft companies. This high-end design fair has been held for 9 years and has become a key meeting point for architects, interior designers, and real estate developers in the Middle East.
And to end the year we will host two simultaneous exhibitions in Tokyo and Paris from December 13 to 15. At the Spanish Embassy in Tokyo, we will present an exhibition and a series of conferences with Japanese studios in which thirteen Spanish habitat design companies will participate. The exhibition will be curated and designed by the Japanese architecture and interior design firm Environmental Planning Laboratory (EPL). The exhibition concept around which the show will revolve is "Siesta Shift," the Spanish "siesta" as a way of "designing time" or "designing your day." The furniture, lighting and other Spanish products that will be displayed at the Embassy represent a new design of time, combining two areas in the exhibition: one for "Relaxation" and the other for "Activation." On those same days we will be holding another exhibition in Paris showcasing Spanish design products, one that is aimed at French architects and interior designers, and that will be curated by À Vivre magazine. This is the fourth edition of this exhibition, which has already been held in 2019, 2021, and 2022, and this year will be held in the "Ville Emerige."
In addition, and not to lose the rhythm, in September we will launch the calls to Spanish companies and brands to register them in the activities of the first four months of 2024: Habitat meetings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Appartamento Spagnolo II in Milan (Fuori Salone), and the platforms with which we have collaboration agreements (PCON, Material Bank, MOM, Archiproducts, and ArchDaily).
You are invited to participate in these events, and we encourage you to follow us on our Instagram page where you will find live information on these activities.
