Interior Design magazine celebrated the 12th edition of its HiP Awards this year, the publication’s annual prize for the most innovative designs. Spanish talent was honored with four Winners and several Honorees. This year’s awards ceremony was held at The Mart in Chicago, coinciding with NeoCon 2025.
In the "Outdoor Seating" category, iSiMAR took the prize with Habana, an elegant and highly comfortable modular armchair designed by Gensler that captures the spirit of Cuban architecture. For "Workplace: Lounge Seating," Sancal won the award with Planta, an armchair designed by Yonoh that blends organic shapes with exceptional versatility. In "Workplace: Partitions & Wall Systems," Kriskadecor stood out with Khronos, a system of metal screens designed by Rafa Ortega that reimagines workspaces using a distinctly sculptural language. And in "Workplace: Stool", Andreu World was recognized for its Valencia Stool, a solidarity design by Patricia Urquiola created to raise funds to rebuild areas affected by the floods in Valencia last October. The stool is notable for its lightness and blend of noble materials.
In addition, several Spanish firms were recognized as "Honorees": Expormim by Loop in the “Hospitality: Seating” category; RS Barcelona by You and Me Monochrome and Andreu World by Brezal in the “Outdoor Furniture” category; and Andreu World by Garzetta in the “Workplace: Table” category.
Spanish companies' recognition in the US didn’t stop with the HiP Awards or the NYCxDesign Awards. At the NeoCon trade show in Chicago, Andreu World won awards in nine Best of NeoCon categories, winning the gold award for the Brandy Barstool, Bolete Lounge Outdoor, Garzetta Table, Nina Lounge, and Velo Chair. Silver awards were given for the Bolete Armchair, Bolete Lounge Outdoor Table, and Next Executive. And in the Sustainability and Innovation category, the Valencia Stool earned yet another distinction.
