IFS Organized a Spain Pavilion at the Medellín Design Fair for the First Time

For the first time, we organized, in collaboration with our Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Bogotá, a Spain Pavilion at the Medellín Design Fair. 

From September 10 to 12 seven Spanish companies specializing in furniture, rugs, bathroom products, acoustic panels, and wall and ceiling coverings showcased their product offerings to the Colombian and Latin American professionals who visited them.  

As part of the fair’s Academic Program in the Green Pavilion, we also took part in a panel on September 11 titled “Spain Connects You with Design.”  Three company representatives from Vondom, RS Barcelona and NOW Carpets took part in the discussion, which was moderated by a representative from ICEX-IFS. The discussion explored how Spanish companies are working to convey well-being, emotions, innovation, sustainability, beauty, and passion through design to improve people’s surroundings and lives. 

In the afternoon, the Spanish Pavilion was presented in the VIP Lounge, and VIP guests were invited on a tour to discover the latest design offerings from the seven participating companies . 

With our debut at this event, we successfully conveyed that “Spain is a global leader in design for the habitat sector” and that its companies offer innovative, flexible, and customized solutions for all types of projects in the “contract” market. 

In 2025, Spain was Colombia’s fourth-largest supplier of products for the habitat sector (after China, India, and Brazil) and its leading European supplier. That same year, Colombia was the seventh-largest destination in the Americas for Spanish exports of key products for the habitat sector, with sales exceeding €35.2 million.
