Adidas Mexico changed its headquarters in Mexico City last year and, to improve the quality of life of their employees, they required a workspace that, both its design and location, provided them with benefits and advantages in their daily work. In response to these needs, the Mexican architecture and interior design firm Oxigeno Arquitectura designed a connected space where Actiu's furnishings promote a dynamic and healthy way of working.
To encapsulate key features of the brand philosophy, the new offices were designed to feature collaborative, open spaces without assigned seating. This layout enables any team within the company to utilize any area freely. To achieve dynamism and collaboration, the number of desks was reduced to 6 for every 10 employees, encouraging the use of alternative spaces like the cafeteria, soft seating areas, individual rooms, or ‘phone booths’. In addition, the design prioritized natural light and connectivity with nature through biophilic elements such as indoor plants and a green wall displaying the iconic Adidas logo, promoting a healthier work environment.
To achieve these goals of adaptability, connectivity, and sustainability, Spanish company Actiu furnished the offices with versatile and ergonomic pieces, such as the VITAL PRO tables in various heights, lightweight LONGO tables, and EFIT chairs and benches that promote postural changes in the operational area. Maintaining uniformity, the same chairs were used in the meeting rooms, while lighter furniture like folding PLEK tables, high TABULA tables, and NOOM stools were chosen for the cafeteria. The result is an innovative space where Actiu’s designer furniture solutions are integrated seamlessly.
