Consistent and timeless design
Aitor García de Vicuña, founding member of design studio AGV Estudio, was born in Vitoria in 1970.After taking a diploma in industrial design at the Escuela de Diseño de San Sebastián (the San Sebastián Design School) and at the Escuela Experimental de Diseño de Madrid (Madrid’s School of Experimental Design) he built up his career while working in various design studios.A particularly significant step in his career path was his work as coordinator of the department of industrial design at the company Spiral Comunicación before he co-founded AGV in 2003.Since then the studio has become partners with young companies like Goiatz, Mikael and Gorka, whose members were educated in schools in cities like Turin and Nantes.

Equilibrium and harmony
The studio of Lievore Altherr Molina came into existence when its three members, Alberto Lievore, Jeannette Altherr and Manel Molina, joined forces in 1991 in Barcelona. There’s much more to this outfit than the strength derived from having three members.More important is the interraction between them. Each person’s background and training is different and so each designer brings a different expertise to the company. In the case of Alberto Lievore, an Argentinian architect, his forte is all things intellectual (strategies and theories). As for Jeannette Alter, a German industrial designer, her strength is her grasp of contemporary culture (expressed through branding and art direction). And Manel Molina is an industrial and interior designer who works intuitively (he visualises concepts and develops projects).

Free thinker
Luis Eslava is one of those designers whose work you look at and initially think ‘hey, that’s a bit strange....’ Then you look more closely and see how the thing works, the penny drops and you think ‘what a good idea, what a clever guy!’
