Marset

Marset is a family-owned company that inherited the legacy of a traditional foundry in 1976 and began manufacturing lamps. A decade later, the company began its foray into design, and since the mid-1990s, with the incorporation of the third generation of the family, the brand has made design a strategic pillar for the development and growth of the company’s business.

In 2009, backed by decades of experience, Marset created a young brand with a strong presence and a global outlook: Taking care of light., opening its first subsidiary in New York (USA) a year later. In 2013, it opened its first exhibition space in Milan to showcase its collection, and in 2019 it opened its new headquarters and factory in Terrassa, in the outskirts of Barcelona. 

In 2020, it launched an extensive outdoor collection, and in 2021 it introduced new composite lighting systems, solutions aimed at specifiers to enable them to build with light, such as the Ambrosia and Ihana collections. In 2023, it continued with the Fris collection. And in 2025 it published the book “Anatomy of Light,” “a collaborative, multifaceted work that brings together many stories to tell one: that of our brand, the story of how Marset is today a company that publishes and manufactures designs with a very clear purpose: to bring warmth and well-being to all the people who use them, wherever they may be”, they told us.

Design as a strategic pillar of the brand

The values it aims to convey as a brand are: design, quality, technological rigor, innovation, sustainability, durability, and authenticity.

Of these, the brand’s main strategic pillar is design. “Design is what sets us apart. “We are looking for a well-crafted object, a product that produces a beautiful, warm light and creates effects, and that is also capable of innovating and surprising, of moving and complementing”, company sources note. 

“Our collections offer designs with a soft, non-glare light that envelops us and blends into the space, whether indoors or outdoors. Through the language of light, Marset’s collections seek to bring beauty, reveal textures, highlight spaces, and make them more livable”, they added.

In addition, it collaborates with designers outside the brand: “We reach out to them from Marset, or they reach out to Marset.” “We love collaborating with well-established designers, and we also support lesser-known young designers.” 

Best Sellers   

The Best Sellers collections remain: Ginger, Ledtube, Ambrosia, Bohemia, Dipping Light, ¡Plaff-on!, Funiculí, and Djembé. 

The 2025 collections that are performing best for them are Ringo, Gambosa, Lauro, and the new versions of the Fragile collection will be released soon. 

Marketing 

Marset sells its products through distributors. The sales network, made up of in-house teams and external agents, focuses on supporting the distributor network and visiting specifiers to ensure that its products are specified in projects.

The company also sells “online” through distributors specializing in the sale of furniture and lighting and, via its own “online store”, a small selection of products in the main EU countries. 

In addition, on its website it offers the “Marset Pro” tool, a service designed for architects, interior designers, and lighting specialists. Access is available through the professional area of its website, where you may request lighting calculations, quotations, or download images, photometric data, and 2D and 3D files, request finish samples, or book an appointment to visit the brand’s different showrooms. 

Internationalization 

Marset exports 80% of its revenue, mainly to the EU (Germany, France, Italy, and Central Europe) and the USA. 

Marset has three showrooms of its own. At its headquarters in Spain, the company has a space where all its collections can be seen with all their finishes; in the USA it has a showroom in New York located in Brooklyn, and in Italy it has another showroom in Milan’s Brera district. In addition, it has another showroom in Porto, Portugal, but this latter space is not exclusive to Marset. 

Likewise, Marset’s collections are featured in major projects around the world, mainly hotels, car dealerships, restaurants, retail, and offices.
