The second edition of Appartamento Spagnolo has provided a platform for 18 Spanish brands in the habitat and interior design sector to showcase their latest creative offerings at the historic Palazzo Castiglioni in Milan, highlighting the innovation and quality inherent in Spanish design.
Curated by Elle Decor Italia in collaboration with the architecture studio DWA, the Appartamento Spagnolo offered a unique experience for visitors. The installation, spread across six distinct spaces, including interior rooms, a winter garden, and an outdoor patio, took guests to a dimension of seamlessly blended interior and exterior elements.
Participants included well-known Spanish brands such as ACdO, Arkoslight, Enea Design, Faro Barcelona, Gandía Blasco, Hisbalit, Hobby Flower, iSiMAR, Manuel Larraga, Naturtex, Novocuadro, Ondarreta, Roca, Sanycces, Tres, Vibia, Vondom, and WOW Design.
Appartamento Spagnolo welcomed the public from Monday, April 15th, to Sunday, April 21st, giving 60,000 visitors the opportunity to discover the finest of Spanish design in an inspiring setting.
In addition to the exhibition, two notable panel discussions were held, spotlighting Spanish design. “Interiors from Spain: In the matter of Light” and “Interiors from Spain: Focus on Materials” gave attendees an opportunity to delve into key aspects of contemporary Spanish design.
This event was part of the Milan Design Week, an international celebration of design that includes the Salone del Mobile at the Rho-Fiera Milano exhibition center and the Fuorisalone in the heart of Milan. The city welcomed over half a million visitors during its peak week for overnight stays.
Other representatives of Spanish design included “House of Mirrors” by Tiles of Spain at “La Statale” University, the exhibition “Armonía” by SACo and Artesania de Castilla la Mancha at Palazzo Litta, and Catalan design featured in the “Inspired Barcelona. Terra Rosa” installation and the “Visions of Catalonia Designing Crafts” exhibition. Finally, Salone del Mobile historically boasts the second highest international participation, with 60 Spanish brands present.
